Local and international grapes
According to the National Office for Vine and Wine, Moldova grows Western European, Black Sea basin and local grape varieties. About 70% of its wine vineyards are white varieties, mostly in the Codru region, and 30% red, mostly in the south. Local grapes such as Rară Neagră, Fetească Neagră, Fetească Albă and Viorica cover about 5% of the vineyards, a share that grows every year.
