Chardonnay is one of the white grapes the Codru region is known for. We make it dry, medium sweet and alcohol-free; here is how to tell them apart.
Chardonnay in Codru
According to the National Office for Vine and Wine, about 70% of Moldova’s wine vineyards are white varieties, Chardonnay among them, mostly in the Codru region. Codru, where our winery is, is known above all for Fetească Albă, Muscat Ottonel, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Our styles
- Dry white: Artitude Chardonnay 2021 (12.5% vol; green apple, white peach and citrus peel, with a hint of almond; not barrique-aged), Artitude Chardonnay 2017 (12.5% vol) and 6N Chardonnay (Adventure; 13.5% vol; green apple, citrus peel and white flowers, with a touch of vanilla). Chardonnay is also in the Artitude Quartet White 2017 blend.
- Medium sweet: Château d’Étoile Chardonnay.
- Alcohol-free: LifWin Chardonnay.
- Also from Chardonnay: Perla Neagră Chardonnay, from a late harvest, and Châteaux de Brua Chardonnay.

Artitude Chardonnay 2021 and 6N Chardonnay (Adventure) are not barrique-aged, according to their wine sheets.
