What National Wine Day is

National Wine Day is the festival of the wine of the Republic of Moldova. Under Parliament Decision no. 433 of 1990, as amended in 2012, it takes place on the first Saturday and Sunday of October. The National Office for Vine and Wine organises it under the Wine of Moldova brand in the Great National Assembly Square in Chișinău: the country’s wineries have their stands there, and visitors taste with the Taster’s Notebook (Carnetul Degustătorului). On the same days many wineries welcome guests at home, with tours and tastings.

At the 23rd edition, on 5–6 October 2024, the official notebook listed 99 producers in the square; 106 wineries took part in 2025, and the 25th edition was held on 3–4 October 2026. The story of the festival is in our guide National Wine Day in Moldova.
