Romanian Language Day at Doina Vin: “Limba noastră cea română”
A 38-second black-and-white film made for Romanian Language Day, 31 August 2022: the people of the winery, in the office, among the stainless-steel tanks and in the laboratory, take turns reciting the lines of a poem about the Romanian language. The lines are also written on screen. The film opens and closes with the greeting “La mulți ani, limba română!” and the Doina Vin logo.

- 0:10 Among the stainless-steel tanks, a glass of wine in hand, then in the winery’s laboratory: the second stanza.
- 0:17 In the laboratory, then in the office: the third stanza.
- 0:26 With a glass of white wine in hand: the last stanza.
The poem is about the Romanian language: the hearth that gathers us and gave the language life, the land that bore it in suffering, the ancient tongue of the Dacian people, the language of “golden doinas” that will stay forever in the treasury of languages.
The text (in Romanian, as in the film)
Sărut vatra și-al ei nume
Care veșnic ne adună,
Vatra ce-a născut pe lume
Limba noastră cea română.
Cânt a patriei ființă
Și-a ei rodnică țărână,
Ce-a născut în suferință
Limba noastră cea română.
Pe pământ străvechi și magic
Numai dânsa ni-i stăpână,
Limba neamului meu dacic,
Limba noastră cea română.
În al limbilor tezaur
Pururea o să rămână
Limba doinelor de aur,
Limba noastră cea română.
